Regardless of your skill level in clay target shooting, our aim is for you to have an enjoyable visit to CGC. Our friendly staff are always happy to help, and our enthusiasm for the sport provides a welcoming and very friendly atmosphere at the ground.
If you are new to shooting, we can provide helpful and friendly advice on how things work, and what to do next. We are happy to talk through any questions you may have on any aspect of clay shooting, so please do ask – we are here to help!
For regular or experienced clay shooters we offer a good variety of targets which are changed regularly. We have varying levels of difficulty among the stands and include “training” layouts along with “pro sport” layouts.
Tuition is available at the ground and we use experienced CPSA qualified instructors. Tuition must be booked in advance please.
We operate the Promatic “claymate” system across the ground. For those of you not familiar with “claymate” or similar systems, they are basically “counters”. Claymate enables you to practice on any one of our stands/targets, as many times as you like – rather than being confined to shoot a set course of say 50 targets over 5 stands for example!
Members: 30p each | Non-Members: 35p each
If you have a shotgun certificate and your own shotgun, you may just turn up and shoot during any of our practice hours. Please see our calendar for details.
We have a huge selection of cartridges from all the leading manufacturers. Please contact us for stock availability, prices or to place an order. We offer cartridges at competitive prices with the convenience of hassle free collection. Please remember we must see your shotgun certificate when buying cartridges if purchasing larger amounts “to go”.
Shotgun hire is available at the ground, to be used at the ground only, but you must be a certificate holder to do this. You will be asked to leave your certificate with us while you have a gun out on hire. If you would like further information on this service, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Hot food is served 9am-1pm.
