D of E Award

Each session is for 1 hour and are 1-1 with the instructor.


Based on your chosen award (Bronze, Silver, Gold), you should know how many sessions you require across the corresponding award duration (3/6/12/18 months) to achieve the skill section of your award.

We can cater to your requirements, based on our instructors availability (which will be discussed with you when you enquire about doing this with us). Generally people will opt for a session once a fortnight.

Sessions are charged the same as a 1 hour lesson:
1 hour with the instructor = £50
+ Clays = 35p per clay
+ Cartridges = Price varies (approx.) £9/box of 25
E.G. 1 hour lesson with 50 clays/cartridges = Approx. £85

What you will learn

Each individual session is 1 hour in duration. The block of sessions will include both theory and practical learning.

Depending on duration/number of sessions selected (based on the chart showing this information), the longer the duration of the course, the more in-depth information will be provided. The instructor will set your topics, based on your chosen number of sessions, to ensure you receive the basics, upwards.

Topics Covered

  • Safe gun handling
  • Simple maintenance of equipment/gun cleaning
  • Shooting basic targets using the CPSA method
  • General etiquette of clay shooting.
  • General rules for clay shooting
  • Learning about the different disciplines of clay shooting
  • Rules for different disciplines of shooting.

Payment for each session is required at the end of the session. A deposit is taken when dates are booked (£20 per session) which will be removed from the bill with the remainder to be paid on the day.

Dates will be pre-booked in advance. A deposit system is in place for each booking.

We will keep a record of your sessions, including what has been
covered and achieved. You will be provided with a summary on your final session, with what has been learned and notes from the
instructor. Anything else you need, we are happy to provide.
